In 2018, the Highland Winter Feast was held in Woodend at the Macedon Wine Room.  This was the third Winter Feast and certainly the one where we really got to try a huge variety of cuts and presentations of Highland beef. There were 60 guests from all over Victoria, many of whom were unfamiliar with the exquisite Highland Beef that some of us take for granted.

Dinner was a six course dugustation menu with matching wine, and every course featured Highland Beef. Except dessert? The menu was created by Chef Daniel Kennedy of the Macedon Wine Room.  Natural, grass-fed Highland Beef was supplied by Bairnsley Highlands, and local wine sourced and selected by Hunter and Gatherer Vintners. Dessert, a beautiful Black Forest Griotte was created Deniz Karaca of Cuvée Chocolates.

It was a sensational night of amazing food and great wine. This event happens each year, so stay tuned for the 2019 Winter Feast location and date.
